An insult to Filipinos

/ 04:02 AM May 20, 2020

Did anyone really take newly recycled presidential spokesperson Harry Roque seriously when he told the public that it was all up to the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) to issue or not to issue any provisional authority to ABS-CBN while the renewal of its franchise was pending in Congress? That President Duterte was neutral on the issue? Duh!

Roque must really have such low regard for the Filipinos’ intelligence that he no longer gives a hoot whether what he wags out of his forked tongue is believable or not—so not unlike his immediate predecessor (Salvador Panelo, the Palace jester) who brazened out a patently convoluted opinion that COVID-19 can be deemed an existential “invasion” that — hear this — may warrant martial law! Double duh!

Is this country now really going to the dogs, far worse still than being “Third World”?
