Entitlement of some public officials

This is in connection with the news item, “Government officials crowd out patients for COVID-19 testing” (3/23/20).

Government officials are like captains and officers of ships at sea. When their ship is about to sink, they are supposed to be the last to leave it while allowing passengers such as children, women, and the elderly to board the lifeboats first.

But what some of our public officials did — crowd out patients for COVID-19 testing, which delayed for four days the test results of Dr. Israel Bactol, who died fighting the disease — was most irresponsible.

These are the kind of government officials we have nowadays. They have the gall to insist on being tested first. What sense of entitlement. They should be ashamed of themselves, if they have any sense of shame at all.
