Holistic approach to nCoV

1

Where is the government in the midst of the novel coronavirus (nCoV) pandemic? What are the actions of health authorities to pacify the alarmed public after the announcement of the first confirmed case in the country? Is the Philippines ready to stop the spread of this virus? Are the facilities at San Lazaro Hospital enough to treat the patients?

I understand that there’s still no cure for this disease, but I believe prevention is better than cure.

Are government officials, especially local chief executives, doing precautionary measures in their localities? Are they even providing free masks for their constituents? Is there an information campaign on how the public can best protect themselves from this virus? Will the government ban more flights from China?

I know that this is a global emergency and each one must be responsible to protect themselves. However, as an ordinary citizen, I believe that information awareness is crucial in times like this.

At the end of the day, what we need to do as a nation is to be united. That approach is essential to prevent the spread of this virus.

Likewise, we need to humble ourselves and accept that divine intervention is needed — that we should all pray for everyone’s safety, not just for Filipinos but for all the nations of the world.
