Sen. Bong Go insultingly said that Vice President Leni Robredo represents the 1 percent that do not believe in the war on drugs of the Duterte administration.
For the information of the senator, the SWS surveys show that the NET satisfaction rating on the war on drugs has been on a downtrend: from 76 percent in September 2016 to 64 percent in September 2019. Gradually, the people are realizing the weaknesses of the centerpiece program of the President.
Moreover, Filipinos do not wholly agree with the kill, kill, kill approach of the administration. Again, surveys reveal that 92-96 percent believe that drug users should be given the chance to live.
Lastly, one survey said that 60 percent of Filipinos believe that only poor/small drug pushers are being killed, which essentially jibes with the recommendation of Robredo that big drug lords should be the real and main target of the war on drugs, and not only the “tsinelas” drug pushers.
