Merciful and forgiving God, we pray for our country, the Philippines.
Forgive our sins as a people and the sins of our leaders; for the times that we mocked You and were indifferent to Your Gospel of life, truth and justice.
We pray for our leaders that, in humility, they may follow Your ways and respect You as the Giver of life. May You give them the courage to do Your will and the wisdom to discern good from evil.
Give them the grace and the strength to resist the temptation to use their power as if they are demi-gods or demons.We live in one of the darkest of times.
Through your birth as our Savior, You are our only hope and our light.
Be with us always, God, that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life, and live confidently in Your most precious Holy Word. Amen.
