Focus on the athletes

Angry Filipinos are seeking accountability from Philippine officials over the SEA Games, eyes glaring at the controversial P50-million cauldron and other extravagances that are burning taxpayer money into ashes.

But this is robbing Filipino athletes of the spotlight. We should be cheering for them now. The media should be raising their profile in public.

Let us turn the spotlight on our athletes and boost their morale. The least we can do is support them as they carry our country’s pride and honor at the Games.
