More law enforcers needed in crowded transport hubs

04:10 AM November 01, 2019

After the LRT 2 management temporarily stopped its train operations in Anonas, Katipunan and Santolan, commuters and motorists, as expected, now troop to Cubao especially during peak hours. Some passengers are forced to wait in the long queue for several hours before they can get their AUV rides, or are left with no choice but to struggle with thousands of stranded commuters just to get a ride home, either from jeepneys or from the free rides offered by the government.

It is unfortunate that some bad elements take advantage of this almost chaotic situation. Some of the passengers end up becoming victims of pickpockets and petty thieves.

I suggest that more law enforcers should be visible in this area, so that the inconvenienced commuters, while they bear the brunt of the overcrowded, uncomfortable environment and the larger transport crisis, can at least reach their homes safely, though late in the evening.
