Pray for rain as solution to water crisis? And our taxes pay for this?

From the looks of it, the perennial water crisis in this country can only be solved if typhoons come with regularity.

That is what the water concessionaires are telling us: Without the annual heavy rains, the Angat Dam would dry up and Metro Manila residents would die of thirst.

The Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System was tasked to find more sources of water supply for a fast-growing population, not to merely rely on water from the sky!

After years of wasting taxpayer money for the salaries, perks and privileges of officials and employees of that most inutile of government agencies, what do Metro Manila residents get in return? Advisories to pray more for typhoons.
