Voice out support for HK protesters

/ 05:01 AM October 17, 2019

I am writing this letter to bring attention to the growing tension and unrest between Hong Kong and China. The conflict between the two sides has escalated into mass rallies in Hong Kong, resulting in injuries and deaths.

The Hong Kong police had been accused of being under the influence of China, which has also warned those who have voiced support for the protests.

One of the most recent is Daryl Morey, the Houston Rockets general manager, who posted on Twitter his support for the Hong Kong protesters.

China did not take that well; it expressed strong dissatisfaction with Morey’s tweet, and several Chinese businesses have also announced it will cut ties with the Houston Rockets.

Our people and the government should voice out their support for the people of Hong Kong.

If everyone continues to tolerate China, it will only continue to do things forcefully. The world should come together and say “Enough!” to China’s bullying.

The Philippines can hopefully get the same support against China regarding the disputed islands in the West Philippine Sea. We must seek help so that China will abide by The Hague ruling .
