Dear Imelda

Republic of the Philippines, House of Representatives, Hon. Imelda R. Marcos, 2nd District, Ilocos Norte,29 May 2017

HIS EXCELLENCY RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE, President of the Republic of the Philippines, Malacañang Palace, JP Laurel St., San Miguel, Manila 1005

Marginal note: Certified copy, (signed) Atty. R.M.O. Gonzaga, Department of Justice-Board of Pardons and Parole, 09/02/19

Dear President Duterte,

May I respectfully forward to you the concern of MR. ANTONIO L. SANCHEZ, former Mayor of Calauan, Laguna and currently serving his sentence at the Maximum Security Compound of the New Bilibid Prison. There is an ongoing application for Executive Clemency by way of Absolute Pardon filed by him pursuant to the Rules and Regulations of the Board of Pardons and Parole.

He has served more than twenty four (24) years of his sentence and with the Good Conduct Time Allowance (GCTA) considered, would correspond to an estimated thirty two (32) years of service. Former Mayor Sanchez has also been granted with a Penal Colonist Status since June 14, 2012. Now seventy one (71) years old, he hopes to be released from prison due to his advanced age and failing health.

The aforesaid circumstances represent a valid attention as regards his behavior, character antecedents, mental and health condition which likewise justify a recommendation for executive clemency. Your utmost consideration on the case of Former Mayor Antonio Sanchez is highly appreciated.

Very truly yours,
(signed) Imelda Romualdez Marcos

Dear Imelda,

May I respectfully forward to you the concern of the Filipino people, since you said you were sick at the time of promulgation (but were in fact found to be partying that time), the Sandiganbayan verdict dated Nov. 9, 2018, convicting you of seven counts of graft and sentencing you to 77 years in prison.

Instead of freeing a heinous crime convict not qualified for GCTA, the aforesaid circumstances rather require that you join him in prison. You will have a blast with the convict Antonio Sanchez. Like you, he loves showing off his statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In his case, P1.5 million worth of shabu was stacked inside the statue. You can both play hide and seek. What will you hide inside your statue?

We assure you that in prison, you will continue to live the lifestyle of the rich and famous. Be assured that our prison is a system of two worlds: a make-believe penitentiary for the rich and mighty, and a cramped, fetid squalor for the rest who are not. Given your character antecedents, you can party while in jail. You will have your own kubol with the latest widescreen home cinema system, central air-conditioning and unlimited access to mobile communications. Adorn the walls with some of your stolen artworks—it will be like your Waldorf Astoria suite. An extra kubol will be granted to stock your Manolo Blahnik shoes.

You can continue to visit your posh Pacific Plaza condo at Ayala Avenue. Prison wardens allow influential prisoners clandestine trips outside jail. We will deny that before media, and then show them photos of you in your orange prisoner garb. They will not see the Renato Balestra tag on your prisoner’s dress anyway.

You can also avail yourself of catered food. No, not the kind that ailed hundreds of your supporters with food poisoning on your last birthday. That was low-priced proletarian food. For you, it’s fine dining haute cuisine.

After a few years of partying at the New Bilibid Prison and surreptitious visits for revelries outside (on the pretext that your “failing health” requires doctor’s visits, hence, be ready with your imaginary wheelchair), you can avail yourself of pardon and clemency. Just pay jail officials for that. Yes, Ma’am, it’s for sale and we know you can always withdraw money from one of your offshore accounts unknown to the Presidential Commission on Good Government. President Duterte is truly caring for your family. He knows what payback is for the campaign money you gave him.

Your utmost surrender to jail is highly appreciated.
