It’s enlightening to read about the conversion of Sam Oh, her realization of the dignity of human life and of the Church’s stand on in vitro fertilization.
Life, indeed, is a gift, and that life begins from conception. New life is formed by God through the marital act of husband and wife that is open to life. Marriage is for the procreation of children and their education, and for the good of the spouses.
The essential properties of marriage include its indissolubility, so no to divorce; exclusive unity between one man and one woman; and openness to life, so no contraception in the marital act.
Marriage entails sacrifice, like any noble undertaking, but every effort of total self-giving and perseverance invested in this permanent and worthy endeavor for a happy family is well worth it. Marriage is the cornerstone of family and society.
