‘Terrible mismatch’

Does that flamboyant lawyer Salvador Panelo really believe he has risen to the level of that glamorous lawyer Amal Clooney, such that he is worthy to be considered her “match” in the squabble involving Rappler’s Maria Ressa (“Palace spox considers Amal Clooney his ‘match’” 7/10/19)?

In terms of intelligence, it’s definitely a terrible “mismatch.” Panelo sounds more like an idiot mouthing inanities than a lawyer.

And in matters of “sartorial elegance,” oh brother, Panelo sticks out like a clown (even his boss pokes fun every now and then at the way he dresses up). On the other hand, Clooney always comports herself like a true princess! So where does Panelo get off comparing an ampalaya (himself) to an apple (Clooney)?
