After Del Rosario, who’s next?

Another alarming incident that needs more prompt action not only from the Philippine government but also from the international community is the “questioning and holding of former foreign secretary Albert del Rosario” in Hong Kong.

I find this distressing after the same incident happened on May 21 to former Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales. They were the ones who filed a case against Chinese President Xi Jinping  for crimes against humanity at the International Criminal Court in March.

I don’t know what could be the next move of the Philippine government after this. I would also like to question the timing, because this happened hours after Del Rosario criticized  the proposed joint Philippines-China investigation of the sinking of a Filipino boat in the West Philippine Sea.

This is indeed harassment, and it is obvious that China would not want anyone to go against its plan to encroach on  Philippine territory. Will the international community take the necessary action over this incident? Will they help us Filipinos?
