What about retired MUP?

/ 05:00 AM May 23, 2019

An Inquirer news report said military and uniformed personnel (MUP) will now get their salary increase as mandated under Joint Resolution No. 1 dated Jan. 1, 2018 (“Rules for higher pay for uniformed men out,” 5/16/19).

The corresponding Department of Budget and Management National Budget Circular No. 576 dated May 14, 2015, was issued to implement the release of the salary hike.

Where is the pension increase for retired MUP under the same resolution?

Sen. Panfilo Lacson denied the allegation of Rep. Rolando Andaya Jr. that the Senate slashed the pension budget for retirees. But it now appears that Andaya is correct.

Insiders at the DBM said there is none in the General Appropriations Act of 2019, which President Duterte recently signed, covering the pension increase of retirees.

Thousands of retirees like me hope to see the true picture in  this matter.
