Chinese Trojan horse?

09:02 AM May 06, 2019

“Timeo Seres et dona ferentes,” or I dread the Chinese even when they come bearing gifts, to borrow from Virgil’s “Aeneid.” Latin original: “Timeo Danaos [Greeks] et dona ferentes,” on the Trojan horse.

Indonesia can serve as a model in dealing with poachers. It blew up one straying Chinese vessel on the initiative of Fisheries Minister Susi Pudjiastuti. President Joko Widodo is behind her militant stance. He himself sailed aboard a warship to waters claimed by Beijing as part of its “traditional fishing grounds.”
