‘Insensitive, thick-faced’

/ 05:14 AM March 28, 2019

The callousness and greediness of some senatorial candidates and the craziness of Filipino voters favoring them can be simply analyzed as follows:

(1) These candidates were previously elected to the Senate solely because of their popularity as movie actors.

(2) During their term as senators, two committed plunder; and one, a self-professed intellectually challenged national legislator, became perennial excess baggage in the Senate for three terms, while shamelessly collecting enormous money from the government as his salaries and perks.

Now, here they come, all poised to become senators once again, if the latest preelection surveys are any indication. What on earth have prompted these candidates to run again?

FEATURED STORIES

Only in the Philippines can we find those who are overly insensitive and thick-faced seeking a Senate seat, despite the fact that they have been proven to be grossly dishonorable, totally inadequate and absolutely unwanted in public service.

Why on earth would voters still want to elect them?

The most likely explanation is that these voters who will vote for them are crazy, and they truly deserve the consequences of inept and bad governance.
