Residents should pay stiff fees to enter casinos

The Quezon City government should be congratulated for its ordinance making difficult the entry of residents to casinos.

I understand that in Singapore, residents have to pay SG$200 for entry to casinos. This is wonderful. If the local residents want to gamble in the casinos, let them pay a stiff fee. The government should discourage gambling in casinos by local residents.

When will national lawmakers come to their senses and decide to discourage citizens from gambling? The people should be encouraged instead to spend their leisure time constructively, and the inveterate gamblers should be leashed.

If addiction to illegal drugs causes individuals to waste away, addiction to gambling causes family fortunes to evaporate and businesses to collapse.
