Once again, President Duterte shows his crude manner of speaking by asserting “freedom of expression” as his justification for expressing himself in public without regard to decency (“Du30 says women misunderstand him; ‘chief misogynist’ still rates high,” 3/13/19) .
For a leader of a nation who should be the epitome of good manners and decency, this guy has been doing exactly the opposite since assuming office — harassing and killing the helpless in this country, for instance, and behaving in an embarrassing manner not only before his own people but before the whole world! And he doesn’t give a hoot!
On second thought, maybe it’s wrong to expect much from a person of Mr. Duterte’s background. After all, how much experience on the world stage did he have before becoming this country’s leader? None! Nada! Zilch! Wala!
So, I guess, the best way to deal with his low-grade attitude and manner of speaking is not to just grin and bear it, but to speak out against it.
