I see the threats on Bishop Pablo Virgilio David’s life as stemming directly from President Duterte — his public exhortation to attack and kill all Catholic priests (“Bishop’s birthday program disrupted,” 3/3/19) .
Those texts are recorded in the bishop’s mobile phone, and the Inquirer should seek his permission in printing those threats, including the numbers that were used to send the threats.
Don’t we have cyber experts who can locate those mobile phone numbers and determine who are the owners?
Many radio personalities who have been assassinated also received death threats on their mobile phones before they were shot.
What have the police and the National Bureau of Investigation done about those murders? Are those murders destined for the dust bin?
Also, it is about time someone started getting the names of trolls who are just as vociferous and vicious in using mobile phones to attack and spread hatred on those who disagree with Mr. Duterte.
For all we know, those trolls are the ones threatening the bishop. I assume those trolls operate from only one location.
After Mr. Duterte’s term expires, they will quickly go into hiding.
