Who exactly doesn’t want change and be cleansed? But so many misconstrue the need for changes and cleansing.
From the start, it has already been the government’s call to stop corruption. Still, no difference: Many of those who are supposedly “guilty of corruption” are freed from detention due to “lack of sufficient evidence.”
It has also been the campaign of our present government to stop the problem of drugs; it even gave a time frame for its eradication. But the longer the campaign gets, the more Filipinos are killed. Killing will not solve the drug problem because this only leads to various violations of human rights.
What exactly is the root of the drug problem? The antidrugs campaign may simply be a sign that the government has lost its power to solve the bigger problems of poverty and unemployment.
Is this really the change and drive for cleanliness that we want? We do have a government, but one which does nothing but to challenge the people to kill. Let us never consider that destruction is normal. Our nation can never and should never be ruled by killing. Let it not be that we regress into a culture of killing solely for the progress of our country.
