This is a true story.

In the mid-1950s, I had a friend who became a lawyer at 42. His first case was to defend a client who stole a neighbor’s pig.

He advised the client to return the pig to its owner.

During the trial, my lawyer-friend argued with confidence: “But, your Honor, the pig went back to its owner!”
