IT is amusing to read the remarks of Public Attorney’s Office chief Persida Acosta over the conviction of policemen for the murder of Kian Loyd delos Santos.
She said it was not extrajudicial killing, but an attempt by some quarters to sabotage the government’s war on illegal drugs.
She justifies her view by claiming there were surveillance cameras in the area and, such being the case, no police officials would even attempt to commit a crime under such a situation, as it would expose their deed to the public.
Acosta’s claim is plain and simple conjecture without any basis. The court that convicted the killers should be praised for showing courage to stand up to the truth and not be cowed by tremendous pressure.
