I read “Small business, big requirements” by Kristine Samaniego (Letters, 9/12/18).
I also want to share my experience and sentiments about Pasig City’s government. It asks for beyond-normal requirements and is very slow in issuing business permits.
I believe that government offices or agencies are mandated to provide easy, fast and efficient service to the people.
Local government units should improve and focus on providing quality service to citizens, not on profiteering and personal
interest.
But, instead of encouraging investors, they are pushing us away. It is depressing that it took a year before I received my business permit.
The capital intended for my business is hard-earned money. I worked so hard and did double jobs just to earn and save money, because our small restaurant is my parents’ dream.
This will also be a source of income to sustain our daily needs and my parents’ medications.
I hope time will come when Pasig City officials would realize how important effective and quality service is, not just to us but also to our economy.
And I hope my experience could impart insight to our local
officials.
