‘Conviction is enough humiliation’

Hallelujah! About time, indeed, long past time. But I am not certain Imelda Marcos should be jailed.

In Spain and Italy, there is no jail time for septuagenarians, only house arrest and community service. Way to go.

I am not for having her slapped publicly, either — an additional penalty to be inflicted on crooks as suggested by President Duterte, whose campaign may have benefited from the Marcos loot.

Conviction is enough humiliation.
