Those indistinguishable new coins

We simply cannot understand why the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas continues to ignore public complaints about the newly minted P1, P5 and P10 coins.

How many times have people mistaken the P5 coin for the P1, and P10 coin for the P5? They all look practically the same in dimly lit places.

The old coins look more distinguishable from each other any time of the day or night. What “genius” mind in the BSP brought about this change, this idiocy?

Of course, the answer lies in the fact that BSP officials are never really that concerned about “barya” since they are receiving salaries, perks, allowances and bonuses by the tens of millions.
