‘Serious cause of concern’

The assassination of the second agent from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Cebu in two weeks (Regions, 8/10/18) should be a serious cause of concern for both the national leadership and the Filipino people, especially Cebuanos.

President Duterte should run after the guns-for-hire in the country who have not been touched in the past 25 months by the  administration.

Professional assassins still abound in spite of a tough-talking chief executive who loves to talk about killing criminals and giving such orders to law enforcers.

Agents of the PDEA and others with the police and and military whose line of work exposes them to high risks should be housed with their families in a secure, restricted area. The national leadership owes them nothing less.
