Not too keen on Robredo

/ 05:14 AM August 10, 2018

I am not too keen on choosing Leni Robredo to head the opposition, as she volunteered to do last month (“Robredo willing to lead opposition vs Duterte admin; Palace unfazed,” 7/11/18).

I find her to be easily intimidated by criticisms. After resigning as housing secretary when she was barred from attending a Cabinet meeting, she has shied away from the limelight and has become very quiet since then. Only now, for some reason, is the coy, soft-spoken lady surfacing again.

I would choose someone more fearless, more articulate and not so easily intimidated, like Sen. Grace Poe. She showed calmness amid adversity in the last presidential election, and knew when to exit a losing battle gracefully.
