Tañada hailed for bill to reclaim coco funds

09:23 PM September 07, 2011

House Deputy Speaker Lorenzo R. Tañada III has filed a bill in Congress which aims, among others, to establish the Coconut Farmers Trust Fund (CFTF) in order to help end the “long and harrowing odyssey of coconut farmers.” (Inquirer, 8/29/11)

Being a coconut farmer myself, I fuIIy support the proposed law, especially because it specifically aims to reclaim the Coconut Consumers Stabilization Fund (CCSF), otherwise known as the coco levy fund, which would ensure the financial protection of the coconut industry.

Kudos and more power to Tañada and the other legislators who will support the bill.
