Address root cause of housing issue

President Duterte’s response to Kadamay members, sadly, does not address the root cause of our housing issue, which is poverty.

Even if the government becomes successful in its attempt to silence Kadamay, we can expect the resurgence of another and, maybe, even a more desperate movement of neglected people.

Kadamay’s recent action shows that Filipinos are becoming more and more willing to risk their lives to uphold their right to decent housing in the country.
