With the high-profile verbal tussle between Kris Aquino and Mocha Uson, Aquino may yet end up claiming her seat among the magic circle of women in power at the Senate should she decide to run for office.
And who are these mighty women game-changers who may historically land in the top 10 posts?
First on the list is none other than reelectionist Sen. Grace Poe, who devotes her time to empowering men and women in the countryside through skills training and employment. Aquino can give Senator Poe a run for her money for the top spot.
Another is Sen. Cynthia Villar, a certified billionaire, whose advocacy is alleviating the plight of marginalized sectors of society. Then there is former senator Pia Cayetano, who can easily snare the vacant seat of her brother Peter Alan, now serving as secretary of foreign affairs.
The fifth spot may go to former Ilocos Norte governor and former Kabataang Barangay figurehead Imee Marcos. Another formidable name is Sen. Maria Lourdes “Nancy” Binay, who ranked fifth in the 2013 senatorial elections.
Back to Aquino, she has to take a crash course in public administration and must come up with her own legislative agenda if she decides to run.
It would also be a masterstroke if she distances herself from the political party of her brother, former president Benigno Aquino III, and runs as an independent or guest candidate of other parties.
She must likewise consider tapping a voice coach to get rid of her irritating speech tone, which Vice Ganda mimics almost perfectly in his noontime TV show.
