Ironman champ not obscure

If  your Sports editor can appreciate more sports other than basketball and volleyball, he might have used a more apt term to describe a full distance Ironman winner.

Obscure is certainly not the word for Nick Baldwin, the winner of Ironman Philippines (“A day of firsts,” 6/4/18).

The man has finished more than 25 Ironman races. That’s 226 kilometers times 25 times. Obscure? Not in his sport. Try tough, sturdy, unyielding.

The Sports editor should also know that Seychelles is not little-known. Its islands are frequented by the rich and the royalty, including Prince William and Duchess Kate who had their honeymoon there in 2011.
