Lacson, the politician
In the news, “Release of PDEA ‘narcolist’ hit,” (5/2/18), there is a quotation attributed to Sen. Panfilo Lacson: “[Releasing the list] could warn the persons concerned … they could be open to harassment or even risk of life which makes such move dumb…”
To my mind, that statement is dumb.
Lacson was once upon a time a young and an accomplished officer of the Philippine Constabulary and served magnificently in the subsequent other names of the peace and order organization that is known today as the Philippine National Police. He knows what it takes to clean up criminality in this country, particularly criminality on drugs.
In those days, Senator Lacson was an officer and a gentleman. Today, he is a politician.
