Rubbish talk

Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Martin Andanar should check how China manages its media before he starts talking rubbish about its ethical ascendancy to “train” Filipino media personnel.

A totally controlled propagandist like Mocha Uson seems to be his ideal of a government media drumbeater for President Duterte, huh?

Letter-writer Celeste T. Cruz made a lot more sense (“Chinese ‘media trainers,’” Letters, 4/16/18) in expressing her distrust of the Chinese media and disgust over Andanar’s replication of his boss’ obsequiousness toward China.

These are examples of false news that always come out of the Chinese media: “Nonmilitary installations,” “research facilities,” “scientific explorations,” etc. in the disputed areas of the West Philippine Sea. But clear pictures of offensive military infrastructure taken over the islets do not lie.

However, it seems Andanar has also gotten so used to lying through his teeth, having in fact mastered the art of twisting around and reshaping almost everything his boss keeps ranting and raving about in public.

What’s next?
