Dear President Duterte,
Misogyny is defined by Webster as “hatred of women.” Are you a misogynist? I don’t think so. You have a mother, a wife, a partner, daughters, granddaughter. You can’t be a misogynist, you are surrounded by God’s beautiful creations, all women!
That joke is something not to be joked about (you know which joke I mean), especially in front of a national audience, by the highest official of the land. It is very, very sad.
Mr. President, you are a good man. You need an adviser in creating your jokes, particularly those about women; not so vulgar, a little bit gentler. Please, in your next speech or next joke, redeem yourself!
I was not inclined to send this letter, but upon reading “Women rising” (Young Blood, 3/29/18), I decided to add my two cents’ worth of opinion.
