What about lawmakers who made Napoles’ scam possible?

05:03 AM April 04, 2018

With all the hullabaloo on Janet Lim Napoles being placed under the Witness Protection Program, we should also focus on those who made her scam possible in the first place: the 20 senators and 100 congressmen who diverted some P10 billion of the pork barrel fund intended for projects benefiting their constituency to bogus nongovernment organizations in exchange for kickbacks.

Said lawmakers should be held accountable for such a shameful (illegal? criminal?) behavior. It is a sad day for our country when our so-called leaders—supposedly models of integrity, honesty and service—turn out to be so selfish and greedy.
