Plant more trees

/ 05:16 AM January 20, 2018

I am a practicing attorney and at the same time servant of the Lord serving God in a bible Baptist church.

I have read the column of Joel Ruiz Butuyan, “The gift of trees” (Opinion, 1/15/18). Very interesting. His writeup needs support to address our environmental needs so that the government can have a strong program, specifically planting trees. The government should not only prohibit cutting of trees but encourage planting them.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources has not done its duty to plant trees in our mountains which are now naked, devastated by our greedy political and commercial leaders.

May the scientific writeup of Butuyan find interest among the dumb givers of access to China, a portion of Philippine territory, as well as to the greeeeeeedy members of Congress.
