Questions on federalism

Federalism has been the talk of the town these days. One can see the news about it both in social media and various news sites. Senators, congressmen and political analysts alike continue to posit their views on such a move to overhaul our present Constitution.

But for ordinary citizens and those in far-flung areas, what exactly is federalism? What benefits would they receive from such? Will this be the solution to the pressing problems that beset our country? Is the Constitution the problem or are those running the government the ones that should be replaced? Will this be just another pit where eventually things are bound to fail one way or the other?

We have these various questions needing answers provided in a clear, honest and truthful way. After all, those asking are the ones who should decide on how things should shape up, especially that what we are planning to change is the fundamental law of the land. Better for us to be equipped with the necessary knowledge on how to decide when the time for a plebiscite comes.
