Name the bribers

/ 05:00 AM January 13, 2018

This is my reaction to former senator Rene Saguisag’s letter (“No room for corruption,” 12/27/17) in which he claims that even though he was “in power,” he was not “corrupt.” Good for him. And then he bolsters his claim by citing examples of persons trying to “bribe” him. To no avail. Again, very good!

But may I respectfully ask the very good ex-senator: Did you report the bribe and the briber? Since you were “in power” did you try to bring these very bad guys to justice?

Well, Mr. Saguisag—I don’t think it’s too late still unless there is a statute of limitation on attempted bribery (akin to “plunder”). Otherwise you can still say who these bad guys are. Unless they’re dead.
