Waiting for a miracle on JP Laurel Street

For some reason, I could say I have an ambivalent relationship with President Duterte. He could be ferocious and he could be meek and mild. He could be a man of peace and he could be a man of war. He could be a man for all seasons or a man for one season. He could be debonair but then he could be sloppy-looking in his checkered shirt.

Perhaps in the months ahead I could finally figure him out or maybe never. Is it Digong Duterte or “Digong D’dirty”?

He said he could no longer accept handouts from good old USA, but with the Chinese, he can! He said cursing will be out of his life because God commanded him to do so. I wonder how long this will last. I am 83 years old, I hope I’ll live long enough to witness this miracle on JP Laurel Street. He is still barking expletives here and there with his “Mona Lisa smile.”

To the President:

At least you are a good man with lots and lots of rough and sharp edges. I wish your Mama were still around to give you a good spanking when you disobey His Commandments. God bless the Philippines and you, Digong.

You are a puzzlement indeed!
