QCHS alumni support Sereno

The alumni of Quezon City High School extend their unqualified and full support to Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno, Class ’76, a proud alumna.

We are disturbed by the reported moves of powerful people in the executive and Congress to oust the Chief Justice either by impeachment or forced resignation.

We are concerned that these powerful people would use every means — fair and mostly foul — to kick her out of office.

We are aware that these moves constitute an assault on the judiciary, which neither has the power of the rod nor the power of the purse.

We are conscious that her ouster constitutes attacks on democratic institutions, creating political chaos and bringing the country to an era of uncertainty.

We know that the Chief Justice is a woman of integrity and upright living befitting a genuine Christian.

We are conscious that the charges against her are primarily trumped up and manufactured by elements identified with a fallen regime.

We hereby express our full and unqualified support to the Chief Justice and call on our countrymen to remain vigilant over the noble ideas of integrity and honesty by joining us in this crusade.
