Jeepney modernization is very unfair!

05:01 AM November 27, 2017

Jeepney operators will lose their jeepneys next year on the basis of the government’s modernization program. Taxicabs older than 15 years have been phased out some time ago, again in connection with the modernization program. But why do we still see very old private vehicles running around? They are more destructive to the environment and contribute more to the traffic problem than old taxicabs.

Let us remove all motor vehicles more than 15 years old.

By the way, do you see mobile billboards going around the city, spewing carbon dioxide without any passenger? The Land Transportation Office, if it has any sense at all, should ban them.

Let us have less private vehicles so that public vehicles will be able to make more trips and carry more passengers. I really pity the commuters lining the streets starting at 5 p.m. every day pitifully watching fully loaded jeepneys and buses pass them by and deciding eventually to walk all the way to their homes.
