Desensitized audience

In our country, different types of crimes are major concerns. The almost unabated practice of graft and corruption, the interminable investigation thereon, the proliferation of illegal drugs and the unrelenting killing of drug pushers and dependents are the new normal.

Our Congress, both the Senate and the House of Representatives, takes the lead and limelight in investigating graft and corrupt practices in the government and the almost daily drug bloodbath.

Where do all these leave us as a people? We seem to be no longer moved to tears nor are we anymore outraged by the monstrosity of graft and corruption and the unwelcome consequences of illegal drugs. We just watch Congress apparently being used now to window-dress all the trivia, wickedness and immorality of the lives of our leaders.

Thank God I was not elected senator in the 2010 elections
because I was a virtual unknown. I would have regretted being a part of it.
