New landmark laws

05:03 AM August 14, 2017

Thank you, President Duterte for giving us new landmark laws that are truly propoor and prodevelopment: Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education (Republic Act No. 10931), Free Internet Access in Public Places Act (RA 10929), amendments to the Anti-Hospital Deposit Act (RA 10932, imposing stiffer penalties on “misbehaving” hospitals and medical clinics), and extending validity of regular passports from five years to 10 years (RA 10928).

All these you approved and signed recently. Laudable! These are the laws we need! And it took one pragmatic and unorthodox president like you to have such “felt-need” laws. You may have the most acerbic (read: colorful) tongue but you produce the best results and the maximum of actions. That’s our kind of president!
