Enrique, not Jaime

05:01 AM August 08, 2017

Ramon J. Farolan in his column titled “Rene Ochoa and the AIM Class of 1975” (7/31/17), wrote that Jaime Zobel de Ayala “pledged a one-hectare piece of land in Makati as the site for the new school” — the Asian Institute of Management.

It was Enrique Zobel, not Jaime Zobel, who donated the land. At the groundbreaking ceremony, the tractor in which EZ was supposed to break ground, conked out. EZ handed his barong to Father Donelan, fixed the thing, donned his barong Tagalog, and broke ground.
