Who’s the weaker sex now?

/ 05:12 AM August 04, 2017

Cheers! Our softbelles just won a world championship in California. A first which the Inquirer properly front-paged last Tuesday (“PH rules Softball 18-U World Series,” 8/1/17), to minimize or balance the other depressing reports. (In San Beda, I handled second base in our AB intramural champion team, skippered by the late NCAA cage star, Bobby Espina).

I dunno where Hemet in California is. I am more familiar with San Francisco; there, a two-acre downtown park was named after our Victoria Manalo, who won two diving golds in the 1948 London Olympics and was properly acclaimed here when she made sentimental journeys home. Her musikero father was from Orani. How can you beat one named Victoria(!) na Manalo pa(!!).

Last Aug. 1 also marked another death anniversary of Cory Aquino, our first woman president, who led in ousting Macoy, a kleptocrat and gross human rights violator.
