Chockfull of ads

Writing large, bold, and readable ID numbers on the front portion of the roof of buses is commendable. Such a scheme will help authorities track down erring buses.

I hope the next thing the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority can do for the public is ban commercial ads on the bodies of public buses. Their multicolored designs and logos are already something that commuters have to cope with on a daily basis. These moving ads are an eyesore to the already visually-littered Edsa. These moving ads add to the ugliness in the Metro, which is already looking so ugly from all the commercial ads, announcements and political propaganda plastered on nearly every available Meralco post, footbridge and residential wall along main, even inner, roads. These ads, far from being taken seriously, are a visual burden adding to the stress of motorists and commuters who, by the time they get to work, are already tired and dizzy from these “encounters” or from seeing unwanted material along the way. Metro Manila is not only congested, it also is chockablock with inanities.
