Ombudsman: One ‘hell’ of a lady

05:02 AM July 25, 2017

Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales is one feisty lady. Or should I say, one “hell” of a lady?

Her indictment of former president Benigno Aquino III and two others in the Mamasapano Massacre was indicative of her true grit defying all odds.

In the television show “Direct Talk” on Japan’s NHK World she spoke about the dangers of “blind loyalty” to an official who appoints another to a government position.

She added that “some people believe that gratitude is a virtue.” But that’s a wrong notion or attitude, she said. One should never be beholden to the power that appoints you, irrespective of whether the appointive power is right or wrong.

Pretty well said, Madame Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales. May your tribe increase a thousandfold.

Bravo!
