Pinoy humor needed in PH tourism ads

/ 05:12 AM July 07, 2017

Your editorial about the Department of Tourism and tourism in the Philippines reminded me of a promo for Australian tourism in the 1980s (“Tourism threat?” Opinion, 6/26/17).

It was about two minutes long and had Paul Hogan coming from a swim and asking the world to come over and he’d put “another shrimp on the barbie.”

It’s not so much what he said as how he said it, with that hint of humor. That particular ad proved to be incredibly successful!
