Better alive than dead

This is in reaction to the column of Ramon Tulfo “Ang mamatay nang dahil sa iyo” (Metro, 6/13/17).

Our universe is a vibratory world, and every word uttered by people will vibrate or energize.  At 8 o’clock of every Monday morning in the Philippines, 1 million or more government employees sing the National Anthem heartily, emphasizing “ang mamatay ng dahil sa iyo.”

This is a humble suggestion from a peace-loving Filipino for whatever it is worth in preventing Filipinos killing each other.  I suggest that the National Historical Commission recommend a change in the line  “ang mamatay nang dahil sa iyo” in the National Anthem into “ang MABUHAY nang dahil sa iyo.”

A Filipino can serve the country more when he is alive than when he is six feet below the ground.
