Paging SSS president Dooc and Dr. Viola
My EC (employee’s compensation) claim for death benefit arose from the EC permanent total disability of my husband who died on Nov. 17, 2014. Under Presidential Decree No. 626, the permanent total disability benefit and the death benefit are the same.
Under the rules implementing PD 626, when an SSS member enjoying permanent EC disability benefit dies, his beneficiaries shall receive 80 percent of the EC death benefit for life. In 29 months of waiting, no processing for such payment has been done at the SSS Tarlac branch.
This matter is taking so long. Officials out there at the head office, the time for action is long overdue. SSS president Emmanuel Dooc and assistant vice president for medical services Dr. Brenda Viola, are you there?
